If Web1 was about “read” and Web2 about “read and write,” then Web3 is about “read, write, and own”.

According to Diederik Van Wersch (Chainalysis), Web3 is transforming the centralized internet that we know into a decentralized network of services in which individuals own a portion of the network.

Toya Zhang (Bit.com) went on to say that in Web3, users are no longer only customers, but also owners of the internet.
