The sun, the sand, and a whole lot of on-chain energy: #CoinfestAsia just wrapped its fifth edition, and once again it proved that a crypto conference doesn’t have to feel like a conference at all. Built for institutions, builders, and traders alike, this year’s festival spread across five beach clubs along the Melasti coastline, turning a single stretch of sand into one sprawling, interconnected venue for two days of talks, deals, and unmistakably Bali energy.

Bigger footprint, sharper focus
Since launching in 2022, Coinfest Asia has grown from a regional meetup into one of the world’s largest crypto festivals, drawing more than 15,000 attendees and 400-plus speakers from over 6,000 companies across 90 countries. The 2026 edition leaned into that scale by splitting programming into three dedicated tracks — Builders, Traders, and Institutions — instead of running everything off a single stage, a structural shift that signals how seriously the event now treats its enterprise and regulatory audiences.
The Institutional Summit takes center stage
One of the clearest signs of that shift was the Institutional Summit, powered by @ICExGroup alongside Crypto Asset Clearing International and International Crypto Custodian. Held as closed-door roundtables, the summit brought together regulators and institutions to work through stablecoin integration, tokenization, and Asia go-to-market briefings covering Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, and India — developed in partnership with events like WebX and India Blockchain Week. Custody and stablecoin expertise were front and center, with speakers including BitGo’s APAC Managing Director Angela Ang and StraitsX CEO Tianwei Liu joining the conversation.
Beyond the main stage: discovery, culture, and community
Not everything happened in a panel room. @athenax_co, building a discovery platform for frontier tech — AI, crypto, biotech, robotics — powered by @nounsdao, brought its ecosystem (including @Internoun) to the beach, a reminder that Coinfest Asia has always tried to be about more than trading charts. True to its “crypto festival, not crypto conference” identity, this year’s edition again mixed cultural performances, side events, and networking with the usual mix of market outlooks, technical workshops, and hackathons — with organizers from the Indonesia Crypto Network noting the goal was to make this the biggest festival yet while keeping it, above all, fun.
Practical touches got the social-media treatment too — from a ticket-price-increase countdown to a “what to bring & wear” guide for two days of sun, sand, and side conversations, right down to the Official Merch Booth for anyone who packed light.
